RV Winterization
Now that summer is over, many campers are putting their RVs into storage for the winter. But before you just park your RV in the driveway and walk away, you’ve got some work to do. Performing routine maintenance tasks will help ensure that your RV is properly winterized so that it will be in good condition come springtime. Here’s what to do.
Clean & Remove Items
Your first task is to clean your RV inside and out. A thorough hosing down will remove road debris and make it easier to maintain your RV. Meanwhile, inside the RV, you’ll want to go room by room and wipe down cabinets and surfaces, sweep and mop floors, and straighten things up. Remove all linens and curtains so that you can wash them before you put them back on the RV, and take all your passengers’ personal items out of the RV and back into your house.
Perform Routine Maintenance
Next, you’ll want to perform any maintenance tasks recommended in your owner’s manual. Some things to check include your tires, slide-outs, engine fluids (if you have a motorhome), and your water tanks, which will need to be emptied and sanitized. If you’ve got any issues you find with your RV that you can’t address at home, you can always get in touch with the B&D RV Center service department for assistance.
